When an enslaved boy is called out to by a mysterious voice, he decides to flee his plantation. In this animation, he is aided in the wilderness by mythical forces during his journey to freedom.
This short animated film, set in the time of slavery, centres on the legends and myths of Curaçao. Drawn by a mysterious voice, an enslaved boy flees his plantation and heads into the wilderness. There, he meets The Storyteller, an old escaped enslaved man, who tells him a forgotten mythical tale about the flying Africans, accompanied by the rhythmic sounds of the tambú. The boy loses his way and is confronted with a traumatic memory, but also finds strength in The Storyteller's tale.
