'Adem even in (breathe in)..., adem even uit (breathe out). Adam Eva in, Adam Eva uit.' Creation and evolution summed up in one breath of air. The film starts with these verses, recited by primal poetry slammer Simon Vinkenoog (1928), who passed away in 2009. On the audiovisual meeting place www.slamsphere.nl, these lines are the starting point for a new generation of energetic stage poets. Like a Big Bang in an expanding poetic universe. These 'slammers' film themselves. Location, camera treatment and performance are at least as important here as the words. Emerging storylines deal with the everyday hectic, the (im)potence of the word, madness and the behaviour of neighbours. No dry poetry, just brazen word torrents captured in very direct cinematography. In this documentary by dozens of authors, the filmed contributions, the making of, the bloopers and the personal explanations and outpourings blend seamlessly in a compelling and swinging, musical 'sample montage'.
