Sam is struggling with hidden feelings. The loneliness of this secret weighs heavily on him, and he wants to share it with his best friend, but the truth could cost him everything.
Sam (18) wants to be a popular athlete, but he's wrestling with a deep, personal secret. Though his friends are glad he's come to the annual athletics camp, they notice he isn't quite himself. His best friend Chris tries to get him to open up, but Sam keeps dodging the conversation. Eventually, he realises he can't avoid it any longer, and decides to be honest with Chris. Will their friendship ever be the same again? Behind the clouds is an intimate, vulnerable graduation film about friendship, loneliness and sexuality.
