Absurdist drama about thirty-one-year-old Abel, who still lives with his parents. The latter feel it is time for their son to leave the nest, but Abel does not fancy the idea. He scans the town with his binoculars and tries to snip through flies in full flight. The arrival of a TV set marks the turning point. Van Warmerdam's feature film début won two Golden Calves in 1986: for Best Full-length Feature film and Best Direction.
