A Place Too Small For Longing

Director: Janka Sára Balázs
A woman relives a childhood memory, but it is disrupted. In a parallel world, an ecosystem dies. An experimental animation about grief, transformation, and the defining nature of childhood.
While taking a bath, a woman reflects on the past. Her childhood memory feels secure – until the silent death of a moth shatters the harmony. Through symbolic imagery, this animated graduation film weaves together past and present, exploring how early emotional fractures shape our inner ecosystem. As the boundaries between memory and reality blur, a parallel world begins to collapse. A poetic exploration of grief, transformation, and the fragile connections between our childhood and the people we ultimately become.
