Herman and Marie, a couple in their fifties, arrive in Istanbul to collect their deceased son’s backpack. Deeply sad, they go through his things and come across a diary he kept during his trip across Turkey. In an attempt to find catharsis, Herman decides to follow their son’s last trail.
