Musical drama about women trafficking. Five women, undocumented aliens in Belgium, sing away their anger.
By the hands of Nigerian traffickers, two sisters from Lagos end up in undocumented prostitution in Belgium. Here, they share a flat in a dreary, anonymous suburb with three other undocumented women, who also long for prosperity and happiness. They get by as a cook, a dancer or a sex worker. They endure the exploitation and numerous humiliations with humour and resilience. Until one day, when they get to the end of their rope. They rise up and sing away their rage. ‘We want no misery. We deserve better than poverty.’
