Documentary on the last commandment 'You shall not covet your neighbour's house; you shall not covet your neighbour's wife or his male servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbour'.
Director Jos de Putter took the film title from the tenth and last commandment 'You shall not covet your neighbour's house; you shall not covet your neighbour's wife or his male servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbour'. In the film, images of a donkey connect different stories about desire. After her husband's demise, De Putter's own mother found out that an old friend had coveted her for 45 years. All that time, he had been waiting for her. A shopping assistant in a chic department store desired for desire's sake: being a compulsive buyer, she was pushed to the extreme. And in the United States, former NASA members long for an entirely new world. In the desert, they prepare themselves for their future existence on Mars. Only the donkey, finding his way home alone across the Pyrenees in breathtaking shots, is ignored by everybody he comes upon.
