During Forum of the Directors program of 2023, you saw twelve quirky Dutch auteur films that have one thing in common: their uniqueness. Curators of this program are film journalist/programmer Hugo Emmerzael and filmmaker/scenarist Beri Shalmashi. They make a selection of feature films, documentaries and short films that will stay with you for a long time and whose creators are guaranteed to make you want to keep a close eye on them.

After each film screening, curators Beri and Hugo engaged in extensive conversation with the directors. What are their motivations? How did the film come about? Why were certain choices made? With an introduction by the spoken word artists of the platform Mensen Zeggen Dingen (People Say Things).
