'If we, boys from Goes, had to do some sin, we went to Terneuzen for the weekend.' In 1964, nineteen-year-old Freek makes the weekly crossing by ferry to Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. Here, he meets up with his friends, editors of the literary magazine Stiletto. They go to Terneuzen’s notorious jazz bar Porgy and Bess, and every Sunday it is a surprise where they will wake up. An entertaining, semi-autobiographical review of the path, curbed by conventions and morals, to adulthood. Adapted from a story by Freek de Jonge.
