Oscar-winning adaptation of Ian McEwan’s eponymous novel. Shortly before WW I erupts, 13-year-old Briony is witness to an incident involving her elder sister and her lover. The sisters are members of the British upper class; the boy is lower on the social ladder. Briony is too young to understand what she saw and makes a decision that will influence the course of all three of their lives. As an aged writer, Briony looks back on her unfortunate choice.
