In an asylum centre, Yusuf changes into his female alter ego Grizolda, which gives him new energy.
'It feels as if I’m in prison. Like an animal in the zoo, in a small cage.' In this poetic and observational documentary, we follow the Ukrainian Yusuf during an ordinary day in a Dutch asylum centre. Slowly, he transforms into his alter ego Grizolda, which gives him hope and strength outside the walls of the asylum centre.
