The animation films of Gerrit van Dijk (1938) are famous worldwide and have won several (inter-)national prizes. Van Dijk was first a painter, a vocation that soon came to an end when he acquired a double-8 camera with a single-frame button. Eight Days a Week is not just a portrait of this idiosyncratic and cheeky film-maker, but also follows the creation of his most recent animation film I move so I am (1997).
