A very Dutch tear-jerker was the starting point for this neo-Romantic musical. Maria Machita has to face a great deal of suffering in a very short period. Her father gets killed in an accident, haar mother dies on stage and her Turkish lover dissappears suddenly out of the country. Film Academy film won in 1991 a Golden Calf for best Short Film, an Award of the City of Utrecht and the Pathé Tuschinski Award.
