Thirteen-year-old Mariska secretly smokes cigarettes with her girlfriends on the beach and is attracted to an older kite surfer. At home, the family gradually disintegrates. Her parents quarrel, which often leads to her being saddled with her younger brother. Slightly surreal locations create an oppressive atmosphere: at home, everything is packed in removal boxes and Mariska and the kite surfer end up at a dim party in a bunker in the dunes.
