Michelle is known not only for feature films such as On the Basis of Sex (2018) and Maestro (2023), but certainly also for the successful Netflix series Godless (2017), The Queen's Gambit (2020) and Dept. Q (2025), which she edited for writer-director Scott Frank.
Using excerpts from her work, Michelle will talk to Job ter Burg about her approach to material, the fine art of tension building and shaping storylines in both series and films, as well as the inspiring creativity that comes from collaborating with other departments.
Composer Carlos Rafael Rivera, Tesoro's regular partner on Scott Frank's series, joins to show how their unique interplay between editing and music takes shape. Together, they reveal how image and sound constantly influence each other, becoming powerful storytellers in their own right - from the finest emotional shadings to grand cinematic moments.

About International NCE Masterclass Montage
The annual international masterclass of the Netherlands Association of Cinema-Editors (NCE) in cooperation with the NFF is open to everyone. The NCE has been organising master classes for 12 years, including in cooperation with the NFF and IDFA, and aims to connect editors (inter)nationally and represent the profession of editing as well as increase its visibility as much as possible.
