Leve het bruine monster (Long Live the Brown Monster) is a homage to soccer in a time when this sport was not yet prey to commercial interests and vandalism. Using only authentic archive material, the film tells the story of supporters with trilbies and big cigars who went to Amsterdam's Olympic Stadium to watch the exploits of their heroes. Young people use the almost carless streets to master the special footballtricks.
