Film version of a book by Willem Frederik Hermans in which a reporter visits a blind photographer. The reporter however is not interested in the truth.
Contrasty and shady Ditvoorst adaptation of W. F. Hermans's short story from 1957. The film, in which the representation of reality is the theme, introduces a journalist who is assigned to write a sensational story about a blind photographer. As it turns out, the latter is living in a claustrophobically cramped house with his father and mother. Before the reporter is introduced to the man, he meets his parents, who exploit their famous son. Eventually, the interview takes place in a dark room in the back of the house. The photographer denies everything his parents have said, but the journalist is not interested in the truth.
