American film about the isolated life of a high-priced call girl in anonymous New York. The immigrant from Dublin is up to her ears in debt she owes to her pimp, who thinks she was born a whore and will die a whore. Her clients are predominantly rich businessmen for whom she stages a convincing illusion. But meanwhile she consistently keeps a distance to be able to do her job.
