Manar and her husband Milad run the pacifist school in the occupied West Bank. Amid escalating violence, stress and uncertainty, they strive to offer young children a safe haven.
This intimate, observational documentary about the power of perseverance is set in the heart of the West Bank. Together with a Palestinian crew, director Marjolein Busstra follows Manar, a woman who dreams of offering Palestinians a glimmer of hope amid the ongoing cycle of violence and oppression they live under. Together with her husband Milad, Manar founded 'House of Hope', a primary school built on Waldorf education philosophy, embracing nonviolent resistance and helping children process trauma.
