Tot de laatste noot

Director: Marlou van den Berge
 Duration: 60 minutes
Four acclaimed opera singers reflect on what it means to grow older in the demanding world of opera. Are they struggling to keep up because of their age? Or are they instead embracing their 'imperfect' voices and bodies?
The exacting standards of the classical opera world take centre stage in this portrait of four internationally celebrated sopranos. Doris Soffel, Roberta Alexander, Charlotte Margiono and Sandrine Piau reflect on what it means to grow older as a singer. How do they cope with a less flexible voice and other physical changes? Their age challenges them to keep meeting the demanding standards of their profession, but what happens when they shed the weight of this relentless perfectionism and embrace their 'imperfections'?
