When petty thief Soufian ends up owing a hefty sum after a scam goes wrong, he's forced to take a job at the only place still willing to hire him: Super XL. There, in this comedy, he inadvertently sparks a workers' uprising against automation.
Filmmaker Michael Middelkoop takes his Discounters series to a whole new level with this feature film. When a brand-new Super XL opens on the edge of town, shelf-stackers Darryl and Rimon, along with chaotic manager Ruut, are among those who come to work there. Soon after, Soufian joins the team too — an amateur con artist hoping this side gig will help him pay back his victims. When he discovers a flaw in the new checkout system, Soufian decides to exploit it for his own gain. But what starts out as a heist grows into an unexpected workers' uprising against automation.
