One video, 56 directors. This is the concept behind this music video, for which each director got six seconds. All the ultrashort clips together constitute a staggering video, brimming with imagination and ingenuity, bringing together many different styles: stylised and hilarious animations, snappy collages and a fair dose of surrealism. For this video, De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig teamed up with design studio …,staat. All short clips can also be viewed separately on YouTube.
This clip won the jury prize of the program Fullscreen x XITE 2018.
This 2025 edition celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Fullscreen x XITE program!
Fullscreen x XITE has been a festival highlight for years. Over the past eight editions, clips from a wide variety of artists have been featured: from S10 to Kempi, from André Hazes to Akwasi, from Froukje to De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig. But also international clips by Madonna, Janelle Monáe, and James Blake. After all, Dutch directors go far and wide, creating music videos that reach well beyond our borders. So, once again this year, you can look forward to a richly diverse program! The selection will be announced in August.
In between the clips, the program’s creator, Job de Wit, will talk with directors and artists. This way, you’ll hear the stories behind the videos, gain insight into the making of music videos, and learn more about the creative collaboration between directors and artists.
