Being Gregor

Director: Camiel Schouwenaar
Duration: 0 minutes
What does it feel like to transform, overnight, into… an insect? Kafka's classic proves a surprising source of inspiration for an interactive VR experience.
Gregor Samsa is a devoted son and a fabric salesman, doing everything he can as the family's breadwinner. Until, inexplicably, he turns into an insect. As your perspective slowly shifts from human to insect, you lose control and are confronted with your own helplessness. Through interactions with your family and surroundings, you, as Gregor, grow increasingly alienated and isolated. It turns out that the love of those closest to you is anything but unconditional. Thanks to the game elements, striking artwork and disorienting scenes, the transformation feels exactly as Kafka imagined it in The Metamorphosis.
