Golden Calf Competition

The Golden Calves, the Grand Prizes of Dutch Film, are awarded every year to the best Dutch filmmakers, scriptwriters, producers, actors and others since the first edition of the Netherlands Film Festival in 1981.

Since 2015 the nominees and winners within the feature film and documentary categories are determined by means of an Academy voting system, developed by the Netherlands Film Festival and the Dutch Academy for Film (DAFF, founded in 2013). Winners within the shorts, television and interactive categories are determined by jury.
