In this musical documentary, De Kift frontman Ferry Heijne sets sail and meets people who share their sometimes wistful stories with him. The poetic fanfare punk on the waterfront provides comfort.
For thirty years, De Kift have been playing the international stage with their poetic fanfare punk. In this musical documentary, frontman Ferry Heijne sets sail, looking for adventure and inspiration. The portholes frame the bleak winter landscape. Along the way, Heijne listens to the life stories of people he meets. Their stories resound with loneliness, melancholy and perseverance: fixed ingredients in De Kift’s songs. The struggle of life inspires new compositions and turns out to be a beautiful ode to sadness.
