Essay about the intrinsic tranquillity of nature, elegantly captured on the permanently changing Dutch North Sea coast; on the Frisian island of Terschelling and in Bergen, Noord-Holland.
The tide of the wind on our North Sea coast causes the landscape to change time and again. Year in, year out, season after season. In this cinematographic essay, the camera elegantly registers the wind caressing the beach grass and the shadows of seagulls on the silent beach. A feather, a bunker, a beetle and dead silence, on the snow-covered seashore. The grand shots, or the ones at micro level, aptly mirror the comparison between the silent landscape and our mental landscape. Sometimes snow-white and tranquil, other times bright blue and temperamental.
