A dilapidated environment in Belgium is the perfect setting for a melancholy song about feeling lost in the world. Time seems to stand still, apart from the ongoing decay.
The melancholy of the song by Stippenlift & Faberyayo is visualised with images of a cheerless sample of Belgium: derelict buildings, neglected nature, a living room where time seems to stand still. An-Josefien Falelavaki, who conceived the video with Sandder, decided to shoot it in her birthplace Aalst, to evoke the sense of isolation and hopelessness she experienced as a teenager. The effect is heightened by the subdued colours.
