Puberty is tough. Being called a faggot and betraying your friend to save your skin does not make it any easier.
During spring holiday, teenagers from the Groningen village of Musselkanaal earn an extra euro cutting asparagus. At recess, couple in the making Alko and Marie make a bet: the one who can stick an asparagus in his or her throat the deepest wins. Alko is the clear loser and will have to give Marie what she wants: a kiss. A steamy spring romance finally seems to flare up, but it turns out his best friend Björn also has feelings for him.
