In November 2012, in a ditch on the Drenthe moors, a hiker’s body is found. He has been killed by three shots. In July 2013, a retired couple is strangled to death at home in Exloo. On 15 March 2018, the court in Leeuwarden sentences the two brothers Marcos and Admilson R. to life in prison. But is this not in breach of the European Convention on Human Rights? The filmmakers followed the trial and were permitted exclusive access to all parties involved: the lawyers, the Public Prosecutor, the detectives and even the defendants themselves.
