Historical drama, based on the life of Dutch Antonia Brico, the first woman ever to conduct large symphony orchestras. The road to the concert stage faced her with vital choices in matters of life and love.
The United States, 1926. The now 24-year-old Dutch Antonia Brico emigrated stateside as a child with her parents. There, her ambition to become a conductor is not taken seriously by anyone. Via her native country and the famous conductor Willem Mengelberg, she ends up in Berlin. In this city, it turns out a woman stands a better chance of reaching the concert stage. But just when her star is rising, the love of her life puts Antonia on the spot. Based on the life of the first woman ever who conducted large symphony orchestras.
