Documentary with a grim look at cultural differences and prejudices. Does Belgian Gilbert feel real love for his African girlfriends, or are other motives at play?
Retired Belgian paratrooper Gilbert lives in Diani Beach, on the Kenyan coast. Here, he enjoys the climate, the beer and the local women. It is not hard to find a nice lady, because the most beautiful women in Kenya move here to find a ‘mzungu’, a Western man. Yet, it turns out to be hard to find true love. Time and again, Gilbert suspects his girlfriends of just being after his money. But are they? Or is it his troubled past that keeps haunting him?
