Sympathise with Shabu, a creative and street-smart kid from Rotterdam-Zuid, in this captivating documentary. Can he make up to his family for totalling grandma’s car?
Shabu (14) calls himself ‘a small boy from Peperklip’, the landmark in Rotterdam-Zuid. For one summer, the camera follows this engaging teenager, while he tries to earn money with his music. He needs it to pay back the damage he caused when he secretly took his grandma’s car for a short joyride. A funny and touching documentary about growing up, realising your dreams and taking responsibility for your actions. This charming coming-of-age documentary previously won the IDFA Award for Best Youth Film and was selected for the 2022 Berlinale.
