Visual poem with minimalist stop-motion amid polystyrene foam ruins. Insect-like optical instruments bring women’s statues to life.
Minimalist stop-motion animation based on a poem by the filmmaker about inequality and oppression. The exploitation of the earth and the unequal position of women appear to have a common denominator. The buildings, built from polystyrene foam, dilapidated and overgrown, were inspired by the defining architecture of two of the most rapacious regimes in European history: the Forum Romanum and the concrete structures of Nazi architect Albert Speer.
