After the Internet and TV hype, the notorious Brabant bunch from Maaskantje prowls around the silver screen now. Humour with a soft G.

After the Internet hype and the TV sketches on Comedy Central, the New Kids successfully switch over to the silver screen. Their first feature film is haunted by the financial crisis. Due to utter incompetence, five loitering pals from Brabant lose their jobs with the Parks Department and in a warehouse. After an incident with social welfare, the money source permanently runs dry. The antisocial bunch combats their financial misery in quite unique ways; their creed ‘I won’t pay for anything anymore’ catches on and the parish of Maaskantje briefly becomes world news. When the local constabulary prove powerless to combat such unparalleled civil disobedience, things are bound to escalate. Regional heroes like Hans Teeuwen, Theo Maassen and Frank Lammers saw the funny side of things and make cameo appearances. Producer Reinout Oerlemans appears too, along with his former soap counterpart Antonie Kamerling, in what would turn out to be his final film appearance.
