A foster family tries to have one last regular morning together, before the youngest son has to go back to his biological father.
A Sunday morning in May. We see a family consisting of two fathers and two sons: fourteen-year-old Elias and eight-year-old Wesley. That day, Wesley will return to his biological father and is packing his suitcase and backpack. The tension is palpable and everyone is individually preparing for the inevitable goodbye. Elias decides to take Wesley to the snack bar one last time to get an ice cream. Away from the adults, enjoying the treat, they can be just brothers for a few last minutes. Perhaps they can remain brothers even after Wesley’s departure.
