Episode from the thirteen-part NOS television series A Gallery, written by Paul Feld. An elderly Indo woman and her husband, who fought in the Dutch East Indies, have not been able to tolerate each other's company since World War II. The horrors she faced in concentration camps greatly influenced her marriage. They lived for 45 years in one house, but strictly separated. After his death, the woman starts caressing her husband intimately, not hindered by the smell or the countless flies. Only now does it become clear just how much she loved him and her long lost love is finally released.
