Sequel to 50 cent from 2007 shows how a drinking and pot-smoking mother tries to get a grip on the raw and complex reality of Dutch poverty.

Sequel to the previous 50 cent from 2007, about the survival strategies of eight-year-old Giovanni, his welfare mother Catelijne and his brothers and sisters in the Amsterdam Vogel district. De rekening van Catelijne focuses on the mother. After a life full of alcohol and soft drugs, she is faced with debt restructuring and a family coach. Catelijne is determined to wrestle herself and her children free from her dead-end world. Reality turns out to be unmanageable.
