Boemerang

Director: Salma Chafouk Idrissi
Traumatised Ezra finally feels at ease. The youth care facility where she lives feels like home, especially thanks to her bond with support worker Dina. But on turning eighteen, she is forced to move, a change that hits hard.
Filmmaker Salma Chafouk Idrissi attended the TV Academy and earned a bachelor's degree in social psychology. Since then, she has made short films addressing social issues. In the raw Boemerang, she zooms in on the youth care system, where Ezra (18) is confronted with an impossible choice: resign herself to a failing system, or disappear into the anonymity of the streets. Just as she starts to settle in at the facility where she lives, her age forces her out, into a cold, impersonal adult care facility.
