'A film about off-side, penetrating deeply and missed chances' is the slogan accompanying Jean van de Velde's buddy film about a group of soccer friends. In an all-Dutch setting, All Stars tells the comical story of seven completely different guys who have been playing in a soccer team every Sunday since their childhood. Now, about twenty-five years old, they are faced with pregnant girlfriends and stern wives, sleeping around and homosexuality, career plans and struggling free from the parental authority. Following the successful feature film, a TV series was made in 1999.
