Episode from the De nieuwe Lola's series, TV dramas made by budding film talents, deals with uprootedness. Chinese Yu Lan works at a computer company. Apart from her boyfriend Ben, she has no one in the Netherlands. When her father visits her and suggests she return to Shanghai, Yu Lan is forced to think about herself and her relationship with Ben. With its lengthy scenes, prolonged shots and little dialogue, the film is clearly inspired by recent Asiatic films.
