Nanouk Leopold's third feature film again deals with life and relationships. Konraad wants to end his life. The letter to this effect he writes to his family acts as a catalyst to the already edgy relationships among his relatives. His only child Maria will have nothing to do with it. This further cools off her relationship with her husband. The bond between their two daughters - the self-centred mother of two Sabine and Eva, who is traumatised by an abortion - reaches a low point. The fourth generation also has its problems. All family members are forced to put their lives under the microscope and decide what to do next. Meanwhile, Maria's husband Ernst is the only one concerned with Konraad and his wish. The events are shot in Leopold's typically calm, almost dreamlike style, leaving ample room for wordless communication, which conveys the painful inability to give and receive love.
