Why are Caucasian people so upset about or unaware of white privileges? Sunny Bergman sinks her teeth in the question how the (biased) perspective distorts reality and takes a close look at herself too.
Documentary maker Sunny Bergman wonders why so many Caucasian people get angry when their white privileges are discussed. In what ways does a (white) skin colour determine one’s view of the world and influence us in our comings and goings? In her quest for answers to this question, Bergman also scrutinises her own thoughts and actions and leads the way in an experiment measuring privileges on the basis of colour. She also examines the white perspective on historiography and illustrious heroes such as Michiel de Ruyter in their role of oppressor. How do we deal with this tilting perspective?
