While the radio news reports on the Israeli attack on the ships in the relief convoy en route to Gaza, the Palestinian Nevine is on her way to the soccer pitch. She trains for the Palestinian national women's team and looks forward to the foreign trips they are about to make. Her brothers initially disapproved, but they have come round now. Her mother is even a little jealous. 'I can't even go on a pilgrimage to Mecca', she sighs. 'Van Nistelrooy', it says on Nevine's shirt. 'Soccer comes first for me', she asserts. It is really special for a girl to have this opportunity. Now all she has to get is a visa for her foreign adventure. But the German consulate in Ramallah turns out to be a fortress that does not easily open its gates. This short documentary is part of a series about small nations and people, and the unique sports they can focus their national pride on.
