Documentary about members of the Andriessen family who have played a significant role in Dutch culture for over 150 years.
For almost 150 years, members of the Andriessen family have played a significant role in Dutch culture. Hendrik was a leading composer and Jurriaan and Louis still are. There is also the artist Mari Andriessen. He is mainly known for his statues, such as Amsterdam's resistance monument to the Docker. But many sons, daughters, nephews and nieces also take part in the arts or music. Music recordings, archive pictures and interviews are used to illustrate the Andriessen family. In their diversity, the generations reflect the political and cultural emancipation of Catholic Holland.
