A sad chantey accompanies black-and-white woodcuts that are brought back to life and are inspired by the German expressionism of the early twentieth century. On a deserted fisherman's island in the North Sea, a landlord, a prostitute and a gravedigger are waiting for customers. The edited live-action shots combined with animation create a gloomy and lost world. The dialogues are based on Slauerhoff's Dialogue Mystique.
