Vieren maar! provides a picture of the tough work on board of a fishing boat focusing on a boy who tries in vain to join a fishing trip.
Documentary depicts the heavy labour on board a fishing boat. A boy helping the crews prepare their trawlers before taking off for the fishing grounds makes vain attempts to be allowed aboard a fishing boat. Standing on a pier thrashed by the waves, he imagines sailing along. Although a storm rises above the fishing grounds, the captain decides to have the nets put out and the men keep plugging away on the heavily rolling ship. Waves break over the deck, as well as back home over the pier, where the boy runs home.
