A documentary in which filmmaker Leon Giessen travels with the band Rowwen Hèze from the Limburg village of America to Texas in Amerika. There they go on search of Tex-Mex music: accordion music that turned up from Eastern Europe at the turn of the twentieth century and was played by Mexicans to the polka, waltz and mazurka. Tex-Mex music is a great source of inspiration for Rowwen Hèze. The film shows pictures of their visits to the German immigrant towns of New Braunfels and Luckenhart, where the band regularly performs in bars and they are guests of the brother Flaco and Santiago Jimenez, the undisputed grand masters of the Mexican accordion. Alongside the accordion, the songs and lyrics of singer, composer and lyricist Jack Poels form a leitmotiv through the documentary.
