Topical television film from the VARA series De smeltkroes about the complex love affair between a foreign cleaner and a widower from Amsterdam. Maria, a beautiful Ukrainian living illegally in Holland, can just make ends meet as a cleaner. One day she accidentally cleans the house of the widower Jack. This awakens both their curiosity. Jack wants to know who was so kind as to clear up his mess and Maria's interest is awakened by several photos on Jack's notice board. A melodrama develops in which they try to conquer their mutual distrust.
