Five hundred years after the first crossing of the ocean, the Queen Elizabeth 2 is the last of the transatlantic liners. 1800 passengers and 1100 crew board the world's largest ship; they are bound to live close together for five days at sea. In this unchanging landscape, everyone is left in their own private universe. This documentary relates the events and conveys the atmosphere on board the last liner linking Europe to the United States of America.
